You are a Voyageur Outward Bound School Scholarship recipient-- a VOBS Scholar.
VOBS and your organization have teamed-up so you can go Outward Bound tuition-free.
Thank you for your leadership. You are receiving a full scholarship because VOBS and your school, college, university, club or organization know that you have the potential to make the world a better place.
We believe in your leadership and welcome you to enroll in the VOBS leadership expedition of your choice (see below). An “expedition” is a multi-day adventure and learning trip with your peers. Two very experienced Instructors lead your expedition, and teach you everything you need to know about surviving, thriving and having fun in the wilderness. You’ll learn practical skills, like paddling or pitching a tent, and you’ll practice vital leadership skills with your crew. You will make decisions, you will solve real life problems and you will care for others. You will get to use your unique skills and identify where you want to grow. Discover belonging through peers, strength through challenge and purpose in goals.
You can choose from a variety of leadership adventures-- anything from a 10-day canoeing expedition to a longer backpacking course. It’s up to you!
Your wilderness leadership expedition (trip) will cost $0. Please join us in thanking the VOBS donors and supporters who make Outward Bound possible for hundreds of students each year.
Outward Bound is a national leadership organization. We’ve been in America since 1963. There are 11 Outward Bound schools across the country. Your school is the Minnesota school-- Voyageur Outward Bound School (VOBS). Thousands of students go Outward Bound with VOBS every year.
VOBS isn’t a “school” in the traditional sense. Our classroom is nature. We teach leadership skills to people ages 12 and up. We specialize in working with young adults like you, to grow belonging, strength and purpose, so you can succeed at home, school and life.
