Lake Superior: Superior Hiking Trail & Shovel Point
The largest freshwater lake by surface area in the world, Lake Superior, is a powerful and expansive setting for a climbing day or a hike. The Ojibwe people, who have lived here for centuries, call it “Gitchi-Gami”, or “Great Sea”. Most of our groups exploring Lake Superior are either hiking along its shores via the Superior Hiking Trail, or adventuring here at a climbing day at Shovel Point in Tettegouche State Park, a volcanic rhyolite cliff overlooking Lake Superior.
